The most important task for us when starting a new project is to understand the manufacturing project is to understand the manufacturing process of this new job and the critical features and dimensions of the part. An internal company work team will be formed to prepare the following information.
 
  1. Gather important reference documents such as Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FEMA).
  2. Define how the process and product characteristics flow together.
  3. Establish measurement systems to support knowledge gap investigation.
  4. Establish targets and tolerance.
  5. Identify variation sources.


The project leader will compile the following documents:

  • Process Flow Diagram
  • FEMA Analysis Plan
  • Dimensional Control Plan
